Danielle Talamini
Indie / Rock / Americana
Brooklyn-born Danielle Talamini is a country gal at heart,
with a sound inspired by the southern rock-n-soul of John
Fogerty and Tom Petty, and a dose of Outlaw country a la
Willie, Waylon and the boys. The result is "The Road Rises,"
a collection of songs about roads traveled the hard way, not
knowing quite where you'll end up, and the good things in
store just up around the bend. |

Wild-Wood
Acoustic / Folk / Folk Rock
Wild-Wood formed in the summer of 2005, the daydream
realized of singer-songwriter Tony Lechner. The Northampton,
MA band owes its sultry
sound to Lechner’s talented songwriting and the belief of
its members in the pure and simple beauty of the human voice
accompanied by acoustic
wooden instruments.
With foundations in folk, bluegrass, jazz, and old-fashioned
rock and roll, the group melds sweet vocal harmonies with
the sounds of fiddle, upright bass, mandolin, drums, guitar,
and piano to create a sound that appeals to people of all
ages and musical tastes. |

"Songwriting

--Peter

A unique
blend of breezy, bluesy, intimate songs of emotional depth
that recall Nick Drake as well as Jobim, but, finally, are
all his own. Great humor, too, and a totally original guitar
style.

Athena Reich
Athena Reich is a bilingual Jewish Mennonite originally from
Canada, which, once you get to know her, explains a lot. She
is currently working on her 5th CD with Emmy/Grammy winning
producer Cynthia Daniels. She has shared the stage with
Peaches, Jim Carrey & Sarah Mclachlin and toured across
North America for 3 years. She is also an actress who
recently appeared as part of the 365 Days/Plays Festival at
Lincoln Center & The Public Theater, and in the Punk-Rock
Musical "Love Sucks" at the New York Musical Theater
Festival 2007. Her music is storytelling piano-pop with a
theatrical twist. She is constantly pushing boundaries,
mocking taboo, and making you pee your pants with laughter
Francine Kay
Francine Kay, pianist, has performed in her native Canada
and internationally. Her solo piano recordings have earned
awards, being described in the press as "Magical, something
to celebrate. An ideal performance played from the heart",
and her recording of the Debussy Preludes was chosen as
"star of the month" by Fono Forum in Germany, nominated for
a Juno award in Canada, and given a rave by "Repertoire" in
France. Ms. Kay is now playing her jazz influenced original
songs with classical solo piano. She has performed in a wide
range of venues, such as Town Hall Seattle, Icicle Creek
Music Festival, Smoke Jazz Club NYC, Vancouver Art Gallery,
Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Trinity Church and the Belize
International Music Festival. In May of 2000, Francine Kay
won the Pro Piano International Competition in NYC, and was
named their "Recitalist of the Year". Francine Kay grew up
in Montreal, where she studied with Yvonne Hubert. She went
on to study on scholarship at the Juilliard School in New
York City, where she received a bachelor and masters degree.
Ms. Kay teaches at Princeton University. |

Dave Deporis
Born in New York City, Dave Deporis is a classically trained
violinist who swapped the violin and bow for a guitar and
notebook.
Taking inspiration from 80's punk bands like the Minutemen,
Dead Kennedys, Ramones and Black Flag as well as the
wondrous and wide cannon of world music, he is currently
putting the finishing touches on his visionary and unique
second record "For The Birds and Children," a fiercely
non-elitist journey through the backstreets of the mind and
the early morning hours, a map of dreams, conflagrations and
landscapes stretched out over a compact disc. |

Kagero
Japanese Gypsy Rock Band
"Echoes of bossanova, Radiohead, Elvis Costello, everything
sounds like this band should be performing in a Paris café
to a room full of expatriates.
-Ben Kreiger, Jezebel Music
Kagero's gypsy-flavored acoustic rock is knocking New York's
indie scene on its tushy. The sound has been described as a
melting pot of tonalities and rhythms from Asia, the Middle
East and Eastern Europe. Kagero pulls their core rock sound
from David Bowie and Neil Young, and adds the gypsy flavor
of the violin found in the works of Stephane Grappelli. With
a high-energy show that entices even the most jaded hipster
into busting a gleefully bohemian move, Kagero's world music
goulash is very tasty – even if you don't always know what's
you're eating. Just call them your local neighborhood urban-gypsophonic,
border-jumping, international debtor's prison groove-loving
feelgood band next door. |

Jennifer Niceley
Pop / Country / Jazz
"If you're
still wondering what Billie Joe and his paramour threw off
the Tallahatchie Bridge, here's an unexplored theory: It was
the unborn blueprint for the music of Jennifer Niceley, a
Knoxville-raised, East Nashville-based singer and songwriter
with a flair for Southern gothic drama and a torch to bear
for all the hearts her after-after-hours croon sends down
river. With her new full-length debut Luminous, she rewrites
Bobby Blue Bland's "Blind Man" as "Blind Woman," letting a
luxuriant string section wash away the blues, and redefines
sultry soul the way Neko Case redefines moody alt-country or
Billie Holiday redefines jazz balladry. Guided by the
shadowy slide and distended riffs of guitarist Joe McMahan,
Niceley evokes midnight confessions, turbulent romance and a
dark, flowing, mysterious lyricism."

FEATURING: Danielle Gasparro (piano/vocals), Jamie Leonhart

Al Street (guitar), Gary Wang (acoustic bass),
Marc Dalio (drums)
Join vocal goddesses
Jamie Leonhart and Danielle Gasparro for a soul-drenched

sing, and that have meant a lot to them along the road of
love and loss. Each set will feature a number of carefully
selected, heart-wrenchingly good tunes that have been
penned by others, along with a few inspired ditties of their
own. None of which, of course, shall include the rhyming of
"love" with "dove", "heart" with "start", or "awfully nice"
with "paradise". And for the romantically inclined, songs of
love and gain will be making a cameo appearance, via the
profoundly talented Michael Leonhart. As the featured guest
artist/optimist of the night, Michael will be performing a
few choice heart-lifters. Of course, the seductive harmonies
of Jamie and Danielle, will abound. |

Katie Arnold
Acoustic / Pop / Folk
Hailing from the outskirts of D.C., singer/songwriter
Katie Arnold has been writing music for the last 20
years. She started out on piano as a child, picked up
a guitar in college, and didn't discover the unleashed
power of her voice until her early twenties. With
influences ranging from Emmylou Harris to The
Cranberries, this up and coming artist is carving out
a niche for herself in the indie-acoustic music scene
of New York City. Katie’s passion-filled songs have a
fearless, yet graceful way of forcing people to stop
and recognize that a life untested is a life unlived.
“Her skilled vocals and song writing ability mark
Katie Arnold as a gifted talent.” -- Dave Kellogg,
syndicated radio personality
Jodie Manross
Folk Rock / Acoustic / Blues
“Her crisp voice and illuminative songcraft belie her
diminutive stature…equal parts wistful and urgent, it’s
atmospheric music that will touch your heart and mind.”
-Los Angeles' Entertainment Weekly
“It’s no wonder why people rave about her power to breathe
life into a song.”
- Boone, NC’s The Mountain Times
“Jodie’s voice is strong, rarefied and, to risk hyperbole,
maybe even angelic.”
– Knoxville, TN’s Metropulse
“Manross’ rafter-rattling vocals can shatter even the
hardest heart.
–Charlotte, NC’s Creative Loafing
With her acoustic-based, blues-influenced folk rock, Jodie
Manross has become one of Tennessee’s --and now New YorkCity--top
singer-songwriters. Known as “the little woman with the big
voice,” Jodie possesses a powerful voice much larger than
her size and surprises audiences with her soulful delivery
of songs. |
